Melissa Medina Diliberti (b. 1997) is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist whose work reflects her healing journey and her reverence for nature, spirit, and story. Her sculptural mirrors, plaster works, and crystal-embellished canvases invite viewers to return to the body, honor transformation, and create beauty from what was once broken. For six years, Melissa has expanded the language of contemporary art through a practice that merges ancient materials with modern alchemy. Her sculptural paintings—built with Venetian plaster, micro-cement, crystals, and coastal elements—honor both the architecture of the body and the landscapes that shaped her healing. Her signature stone-and-shell techniques, inspired by the tide pools and sandbanks of Southern California, blur the boundaries between earth and spirit, structure and surrender. Each piece is created as an experience rather than an object—an invitation to feel something shift, to discover new textures over time, and to reconnect with oneself. In 2024, Melissa extended her vision into community by founding Meraki Art Institute and Meraki Spaces, two sister platforms supporting emerging artists. The Institute provides mentorship and business guidance for creatives stepping into full-time careers, while Meraki Spaces—her gallery and co-working studio in the historic Dunaway Building—serves as a home for collaboration, exhibition, and artistic entrepreneurship. Through her art and community work, Melissa creates from a place of deep intention, believing that we are all vessels for something greater—and that when we answer the call to create, we transform both ourselves and the world around us.
